Holiday Party Dresses Under $100

I was inspired to do this post by Abbey from Marblelously Petite. Her post was Holiday Party Dresses Under $200. Make sure you checked out her post! Right now I can’t afford a $200 dress and I’m not invited to any holiday parties 😞  I challenged myself to find nice Holiday/Party dresses under a $100. It was actually hard to find a nice dress under $100 at first, especially from department stores. All of these brands/stores I have up, are only in certain locations so you would have to buy it online.

Right now Asos has 30% off on Party Wear for Women and Men.

  1. ASOS Embellished Mix Lace Paneled Tulle Mini Dress- On sale for $83 (reg price $119)
  2.  Paper Dolls Off Shoulder Crochet Dress With Frill Sleeve– $95.00
  3. ASOS Cowl Front Cut Out Sequin Midi Dress-   On sale for $66.50  (reg. price $95)
  4. Missguided Lace Fishtail Hem Midi Dress– $79
  5. Club L Open Back Maxi Dress with Fishtail- $51

  1. Delicate Lace Fit And Flare Dress-  $88

  2. Velvet Jumpsuit-  $88

  3. Who What Wear Pick Silky Plunge Neck Maxi Dress- $98

  4. Pieced Lace Jumpsuit- $98

  5. Metallic Long Sleeve Mini Dress- $69.90

  1. Milan Gray Taffeta Ballgown Dress-  $54.90

  3. Nerissa Gold Metallic Wrap Evening Dress- $84.90
  4. Davina Navy Strapless Ball Gown- $74.90
  5. Vera Red Sweetheart Crepe Dress- $59.90
  6. Sasha Gold Diva Sequin Gown- $99.90

Check out Boohoo’s Premium section. Even if the item is originally over a $100 USD, they tend to have sales all the time ranging from 40%-60% off. The dress comes in regular, plus, and petite size(s). The dresses are sparkly, bold, and you will stand out in the crowd. The only downside about these dresses is quite a few of them only come in 2 sizes. I’m not sure if the other sizes are sold out (which I don’t think so.) So either the dress will come in size 4 or 6, or 14 and 18 etc.

  1. Premium Plus Lissy Velvet and Brocaide Dress-  On sale for $90  (reg. price $150)
  2. Premium Asia Bandeau Sequin & Stud Mini Dress- On sale for $67  (reg. price $112)

  3. Premium Anna Sequin Bandeau Mini Dress- On sale for $58  (reg. price $96)

  4. Tamsin Off The Shoulder Skater Dress- On sale for $15  (reg. price $25)

I did add a few jumpsuits in here. Should I do a Holiday Party Pants Suit Guide? Is that something yall would want to see? Let me know and let me know which dress you would buy!

Here are some of my favorite outfits from October. Be sure to follow me the gram for more style photos.

All Blue.

Wearing the same color, shades of the same or Monochromic looks are very trendy this fall. I decided to go for not only an all blue outfit but I also mixed print as well.

Orange & Black.

When it comes to October I feel like you have to wear orange and black to get into the festive season. I wore this to work for Octoberfest concert we had.

Camo Sweater.

When it comes to Fall, I love wearing army green and camo.

Summer to Fall Floral.

So I took one of my favorite tops/outfits from this Summer and switched it with black pants to make the outfit more Fall(ish).

Army Green & Lace.

I took another Summer top and added a bomber jacket and made it more stylish for Fall.

Halloween At the Haunted Woods

Happy Halloween everyone! So 2 weekends ago, I went camping with my family at the Hillsborough River State Park which is close to Tampa, FL for a Halloween adventure. This was their 3rd time going and my first time going. I heard about all the fun they had and how cool it was so I decided to tag along for one day. And they were right, it was so cool!

This was Hillsborough River State Park 25th year having this event. At the park, there was RV campers and tent campers and everyone decorated their site!  I was shocked at how amazing these sites looked.  For those of you who don’t camp, a site is your location of where you stay. People even decorated their golf carts. I got there on Saturday, the 21st, and that was the day of trick or treating. There were so many people. So not only do the kids who stay at the campgrounds get to trick or treat but anyone is invited. They had trollery to take the visitors around to get lots and lots of candy. It was so much fun handing out candy to the kids and some of the parents as well.  There was also a hunted house out there.

IMG_6850IMG_1100 2IMG_1093IMG_1091IMG_1084IMG_1076IMG_1067IMG_1066

For next year check out your local state park to see if they do anything for Halloween for some family fun. The Hillsborough River State Park usually celebrates Halloween a week or two weeks before Halloween. If they do and you want to camp out there make sure you might want to book now. At this park my family books about a year in advance because it gets booked so fast.

Hope you have Happy Halloween! What you did for Halloween. What did you dress up as?

How I Style: an Orange Skirt + Lookbook

This beautiful orange skirt is by Victoria Beckham from her VBxTarget brand. I love the fit, the pocket (yes, it’s a real pocket!) and how versatile of this skirt is. The 5 looks I did are all something I would wear to work or to a professional event depending on the setting or if I just want to be over the top lol. Hopefully, you will get some inspiration from these looks.

  1. The first outfit, I thought this skirt would look great with a chambray top, in my case a chambray dress. I’ve always wondered how stylish woman pulled this off but I think that I hid the fact that its a dress. What do you think? I added some leopard print flats to give this outfit some fun and paired it with gold and blue accessories.

2. Yellow and Orange complement each other so well. Because the colors are so bright, I kept the accessories simple and matchy-matchy with the yellow purse and orange/gold bracelets. I added my fitted black blazer because the top is sleeveless and I freeze easily. I also feel like it pulls it together and looks professional. I have 2 different shoe options, my beloved mules (lol I wear them every day!) and a pair of heels.

3. If you didn’t know, I BLEED ORANGE & BLUE!! GO GATORS 🐊 This is my favorite outfit in this lookbook. I may be a little bias haha. I paired this skirt with this baby tee that I tucked in with a matching cardigan and nude heels to pull the look together. Do I look cool with the cardigan wrapped around my waist?

4. If you’re not into wearing a lot of colors, this outfit is more “toned down.”  I paired it with all black and my brown snake-print crossbody bag. To me, the crossbody bag really adds to the outfit.

5. The last outfit, I decided to add this pink knock-off Zara blazer, that I got a long time ago on eBay. I got inspiration for this outfit from Instagram but I can’t remember who it was. Wearing two bright colors together is a bit scary because 1. people are going to stare and think your crazy and 2. you don’t want to look like skittles. I think this outfit works because I separated the skirt and pink blazer with the black top and pumps and I no accessories on so it’s not over the top.

Which look is your favorite 1,2,3,4, or 5? What would you wear with an orange skirt?

Fall Romper

Rompers are great for all seasons! Well, maybe not winter. Rompers make great outfits and are easy to put together. They come in long sleeves, bell sleeves or if you have short sleeve rompers you can add on a leather or denim jacket. You can wear tights to keep your legs warm or wear a pair thigh high boots or booties.

With everything that is going on in the world, I just want to remind you to not take anything for granted. I want you to Laugh, Love, Learn, Live and Be KIND! Unfortunately, life isn’t all pizza and ice cream (or whatever your favorite food is) and we are all going through a battle, but remind yourself of all the positive things in your life.

How do you style rompers for Fall?

DesixKaty Dose of Colors Review

Youtube Beauty Guru Desi Perkins and Katy better know as LustreLux collaborated with Dose of Colors. This was Dose of Colors first collaboration. Desi & Katy are two of my favorite beauty gurus. They are so talented, down to earth, and hilarious. This was my first time ordering from Dose of Colors and I’ve always heard great things about their products.

I thought the process was very simple when ordering, they had a quick add to cart button for each item or the entire collection. There was a glitch with the Eyeshadow palette when customers were trying to click on the page and adding it to the cart, it kept saying sold out. I thought Dose of Colors was well stocked, they didn’t sell out within an hour. Of course, people had shipping problems such as wrong items or broken product and I saw so many people on social media who were so impatient with getting their order. I think that most of us are all spoiled with Amazon’s 2-day shipping and we need to be reminded that shipping takes a while, especially with high volume. We should understand that when thousands of people are ordering at the same time and that company has to mail thousands and thousands of orders, IT TAKES TIME, THINGS HAPPEN! Yes it sucks or it’s disappointing but with these types of collaborations or makeup launches, we have to be aware that there will be hiccups.

ANYWAY, back to the DesixKaty Collection. In the collection, there are 8 items: 1 eyeshadow palette, 2 highlighters, and 5 lip products.

The Girls eyeshadow palette is so beautiful. Desi and Katy wanted something different that could go with your favorite transitional palette. There are 4 beautiful shimmer/metallic eyeshadows for that extra pop. Each shade is named after both Desi and Katy’s dogs. The eyeshadows are very pigmented, creamy and versatile. It is recommended to apply these shadows with your finger for the best color payoff but I have seen videos of beauty gurus using a brush and the results are amazing! This palette is $28 USD.

IMG_1566IMG_0913IMG_0916        In sunlight

  • Suz- is a bright champagne shade. This formula is to be used WET. Just add a drop of water to your finger or brush when using this. Suz is a great color for an inner corner highlight.
  • Noli- is a beautiful bronze color with gold reflects. I think this is my favorite shade just because I can wear this every day. I’ve literally been putting this on my lid, with nothing else and it looks so good.
  • Turbosan- is a purple, brown base (maybe a hint of red too), with silver shimmer reflects. This eyeshadow is perfect fall, you can pair it with Saváge, which you will see later, or a dark vampy purple or burgundy lipstick.
  • Harpoon- is a metallic cool green base with gold reflects. This formula is to be used WET. This shade screams FALL. When it comes to fall army green is everywhere. This will be great to match the camo sweater of yours.

These highlighters are beautiful! I’ve seen different reviews on beauty bloggers and YouTubers of different skin tones and some say it they love it and it works for their skin tones and others say that it’s too light for them especially Furgo which is the lighter highlighter. I have decided to pass on the highlighters because 1) I’m trying to watch how much money I spend (that I don’t have) and 2) I have 4 highlighters and decided I don’t have to have this lol. If I were to get one I would choose Mírame. The highlighters are $28 USD.

Screen Shot 2017-09-19 at 9.28.33 PM

  • Fuego- is a light champagne gold. This shade from what I can it’s more on the yellow gold side. This highlighter would be great for fair to medium skin tones. If you have a deeper skin tone you could use this to intense another highlighter (learned from Jackie Ania).
  • Mírame- is a rose gold highlighter. I think this looks good on all skin tones. If you are of a darker than a medium skin tone this will look amazing on you!

There are 5 lipsticks: 2 liquid lipsticks, 2 nude classic lipsticks, and a lipgloss. I purchased both liquid lipsticks and plan on buying 2 more items in the restock. The liquid lipsticks are $18 each, the nudes are $16 each, and the lip gloss is $15. Let’s start with liquid lipsticks!

  • Hot Fire- Is a fiery orange-red liquid lipstick with a velvet matte finish. This liquid lipstick applies smoothly. When the collection dropped this product was the first item I knew I had to have this. Hot Fire is way out of my confront zone! It is a bright orange color on me. I tend to go for darker lipstick shades. However, this color is beautiful. This color will be perfect for Spring/Summer.
  • Saváge- is described as a rich black base burgundy (black cherry) shade with a velvet matte finish. Dose of Colors liquid lipsticks is a “velvety high-fashion matte finish which envelops lips in a rich color.” So basically the finish is a matte but it is shiny like a lipgloss. I absolutely LOVE this lipstick!! This shade screams me! This color will be perfect for Fall/Winter, or if you’re like me every day.

Screen Shot 2017-09-19 at 9.01.00 PM

  • No Shade- is a light peachy nude with a creamy/matte finish. No Shade is great for someone who has a fair complexion and maybe a warm skin tone.
  • More Creamer Please- is a deeper nude with brown/peach undertone. More Creamer Please is great for someone who has medium to deep complexion depending on their preference.
  • Over The Top- Is a clear gloss with gold reflects. This lipgloss can be worn on its own or Over The Top of lipstick! Did you see what I did there?

That is the whole collection! What do you think? If you could only purchase one item, I would highly recommend The Girls Palette. It’s unique, it works great with other eyeshadows, it’s easy to use and blends well. The palette is so versatile, you can do daytime everyday look or a dramatic night look. For the restock I want to buy Over The Top and I am thinking about getting More Creamer Please.

Also, check out my friend Linda’s post from Linda Talks Beauty if you want to know more about the highlighters and other Dose of Color Lipsticks.

The restock for the DesixKaty Collection will be this Sunday 9/24/17 at 6pm PST on Did you get anything from the first launch? Are you wanting to buy something from the restock? Let me know in the comments. If you want to see makeup looks from this collection, check out my Instagram @joniamac_style.

Gingham Lookbook

Oppa Gingham Style! Did you see what I did there, who remembers that song from Psy?Gingham is everywhere! How can it not be its such a great print! You can get Gingham in skirts, dresses, shorts, pants, and all different styles of tops. And most likely it comes in your favorite color. Other than the traditional black and white I’ve seen gingham in navy, red, pink, teal, or yellow to name a few.

For this outfit, I wanted to keep it casual and go for that all blue look. Wearing the same color tone is quite popular right now. I added my rose gold shoes mules and gold accessories to complete this look. I think this look is great for running around or when you’re spending time outdoors.

How cute is this romper?! I love the little peek-a-boo, it gives this romper a sexy feeling. I have to different shoe options for you. The first one is a pair of black mules to make the outfit more casual. Then I added theses hot pink wedges for a playful look. I feel like both of these options are great for a day time look. This would be great for a lunch date or mimosas with the girls. Also, sandals would be a great pair as well. For a night time look, I would wear this romper with a pair of heels. I don’t have Navy heels so I would go for either a black or nude pair of heels. In these pictures, I wore a bra but you can see it peeking through the peek-a-boo (cheater lol). I tend to wear a bra to make it look like I have some boobs but I think for this I will just go braless. This AEO Knot Keyhole Romper is still available in Large and X-Large.

This is my easy on the go outfit! I am one of those people who gets ready at the last minute, so I need those go to outfits. I basically took the first outfit and switched the skirt for a pair of jeans. I also added this cute Vera Bradley blue and orange bag (Go Gators!) to add a pop of color to this look!

This is by far my favorite Gingham purchase! I love everything about this dress, the ruffles, the bell sleeves, the cold shoulders and the length is great. The dress is a bit too big but it’s not noticeable. l This is my go to dress for events such as weddings. I can’t wait until it gets a bit cooler, which is in the 80s for Floridians so I can wear this more. I think these cute red lace up sandals add some fun and excitement to the dress. I took the look a bit further and added these shades of pink earrings, I think it adds a great touch. Depending on what type of event I’m going to will depend on how much color I will wear.

IMG_1403IMG_1397IMG_1402 2IMG_1404Also, I love this dress because it makes me want to dance!

What are your thoughts on the Gingham trend? Are you obsessed as well? If you are looking for gingham purchase, check out Missguided, Forever 21, H&M, Boohoo just to name a few stores.

Which Look is your favorite: 1, 2, 3, or 4? Leave me a comment below!

July Mini Haul || AE & Macys

I did quite a bit of shopping in July. There was so many Black Friday in July sales, I swear every store had a sale, but I tried to contain myself and not put myself in too much debt. I did buy a few items that I’ve been wanting and was lucky enough to find on sale.

How fabulous is this romper? I had been eyeing it for a while but I didn’t want to spend full price on it. It wasn’t something I HAD TO HAVE. I love the details of this romper. I love the fact that the gingham is navy and not black, the tie knot and the keyhole in the center. This AEO Knot keyhole Romper is very versatile, you can dress it up with a pair of ankle strap heels, booties or a pair of mules. The AEO romper is currently on sale for $17.98 and is available in sizes L and XL.

These are Vintage Hi-Rise Jeans in the style Doodle Me Up. I had to order these in a 0 regular from American Eagle, this was the smallest size they had. Usually, I buy my jeans in short and sometimes for a 00 for Hi-Rise. So what I am getting at, is these don’t look or fit me like the model on the page. One Doodle Me Up are cropped on her and way too long on me and the jeans are a little baggy and on the model its a straight, tight fit. But I actually like how they fit me, how they look and feel. They have a more relaxed cool girl vibe, especially with the embroidery, and patch. These jeans are on sale for $30 and are available in several sizes.

This top is only in XXL but there are 3 other tops to choose from. I love the gingham trend so when I saw this for less than $10 bucks, I had to get. I will have a Gingham lookbook soon! If you are interested in one of these tops, click here.

I’ve been wanting a Choker T-Shirt since last year and I finally purchased one. The fit is great and this tee is so stylish. You can wear it with anything and feel sexy and cool. This shirt is sold out but they do have it in other prints for $10. If interested, click here.

How awesome are these AEO Vintage Hi-Rise Festival Shorts, Light Bright Indigo?! These shorts are so comfy and perfect for summer. They are a classic high waisted shorts with a bit of a twist. These are on sale for $30 dollars.

When mules first hit the fashion streets, I wasn’t a huge fan of them but they have grown on me and now I’m obsessed! So if you use any form of social media, you have seen the Gucci mules. All the fashion bloggers have them. Well, I can’t afford Gucci but I bought a similar pair of them. I purchased these mules during the Macy’s Black Friday in July sale. These STEVEN by Steve Madden Razzi Mules are on sale for $49.43, originally $99 dollars! What a steal!

When I found these during the Macy’s sale online, I had to get these! I mean for starters they are Rose Gold and Metallic which is a huge trend right now. The BCBGeneration Sabrina Mules in Rose Gold Metallic are currently on sale for $44.43. Both mules are very comfy and versatile. I’ve worn them with jeans, shorts, ankle pants, and a skirt. You can wear them for a casual cool girl look or for a stylish professional look.

Did you do any shopping in July? What did you buy? Let me know in the comment section. If you are interested in any of the items, click the hyperlink or the first photo.
