If you don’t know, I am 4’10 on a good and weigh about 90 pounds, depending on what I eat and if I have been exercising. Because I am so petite I tend to buy a lot of my clothing from the kid’s section. I usually shop in Dillards or JC Pennys. If you haven’t been shopping in the children’s section, oh my has it changed since I was a kid. Children’s clothing is very fashionable now.
I purchased these dress within the past couple of years. When it comes to making kid’s size clothing more “adult” and stylish it all comes down to accessories. Whether it’s a belt, highly suggestion because children’s clothing tends to be straight and shapeless. Jewelry – a statement necklace or earrings, a nice watch, and Sunglasses. A hat if you choose to wear one, your purse and the shoes you choose to wear makes all the difference as well.
The first outfit, this is where the belt came in. The belt helps shape the dress and me. I went for a leopard belt to add some fun and separation of the dress. I also decided to carry my medium size snake print cross body bag to add character. I went for nude heels to complete the look, they make me look taller and are neutral with the bright orange dress and printed accessories.
The Second outfit, again I added a belt to give me body. I this belt came with the dress. Since the belt is brown, I paired brown/tan accessories with the dress. That where the hat, sunglasses, and sandals come in. I decided on these wedge sandals instead of heels because of the chevron print. I feel like this is an outfit you would wear if you plan on being outside for a long period of time.
The third outfit, I use to wear to work all the time. Even though the dress is color, you can still make it work/corporate appropriated. I threw on with my blazer and pumps to give the dress a more professional look.
The fourth outfit, I decided to keep it young and playful by adding sandals. I think this blue crossbody bag goes well with this peachy pink dress.
Do you still shop in the children’s department as an adult? How would you wear these dresses?

You rock the kids dresses! All beautiful looks. I’m actually 5’0 so I know the petite thing quite well- it’s always nice to find others to relate to on that front! I bought a dress from a junior department once- it was a blue lace one, and I was so excited! I wore nude pumps with it and it worked out well- still have it and still plan on using it again. Thanks for sharing such pretty looks!

You well kids clothing so well. And I agree, kids clothing design has come so far, they are essentially dressed like little adults now. Love how you paired the leopard print belt with the red dress. Gorgeous ❤️
