Halloween At the Haunted Woods

Happy Halloween everyone! So 2 weekends ago, I went camping with my family at the Hillsborough River State Park which is close to Tampa, FL for a Halloween adventure. This was their 3rd time going and my first time going. I heard about all the fun they had and how cool it was so I decided to tag along for one day. And they were right, it was so cool!

This was Hillsborough River State Park 25th year having this event. At the park, there was RV campers and tent campers and everyone decorated their site!  I was shocked at how amazing these sites looked.  For those of you who don’t camp, a site is your location of where you stay. People even decorated their golf carts. I got there on Saturday, the 21st, and that was the day of trick or treating. There were so many people. So not only do the kids who stay at the campgrounds get to trick or treat but anyone is invited. They had trollery to take the visitors around to get lots and lots of candy. It was so much fun handing out candy to the kids and some of the parents as well.  There was also a hunted house out there.

For next year check out your local state park to see if they do anything for Halloween for some family fun. The Hillsborough River State Park usually celebrates Halloween a week or two weeks before Halloween. If they do and you want to camp out there make sure you might want to book now. At this park my family books about a year in advance because it gets booked so fast.

Hope you have Happy Halloween! What you did for Halloween. What did you dress up as?

Summer Vacation: Pigeon Forge, TN.

This year vacation, my family and I went back to Pigeon Forge, TN. This was our 5th time back. Usually, we rent out a cabin but this year we brought our RV, along with family friends. We stayed at the KOA which was awesome. It was right next to the strip where everything is at, so we got to everywhere within 5-10 minutes, it was behind the Old Mill area and a park so we were able to walk over there. There was a pool, a general store (where you can get snacks, drinks, they even had souvenirs), a laundry mat, and bikes to rent, wifi, and much more. If you don’t have a camper, they do have cabins you can rent out.

Day 1:

We got there on Saturday afternoon. We set up the camper/campsite, went to dinner and Walmart. Some mornings we would cook and then go out for that dinner or vice versa.

Day 2:

We walked over to the Old Mill. At the Old Mill, they have shops, restaurants, and the Old Forge Distillery where you can taste samples of moonshine. I am not a big drinker, to begin with, I did try a few flavors, and Moonshine is not for me.

For dinner, we went to Applewood Farmhouse (better known as Applebarn). First, the scenery is gorgeous. The food there is so delicious. If you ever visit the Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg area this restaurant is a must. If you do take a trip to Applewood make sure you go on a very empty stomach. The restaurant is family style. With every meal is served with complimentary family serving of their Apple Fritters and homemade Apple Butter (the best part), Applewood Julep, a choice of homemade farmhouse soup or salad, and dessert. When you decide which meal you want, you also get a choice of two sides that you share with your group.

Day 3:

Our group of 9, we all traveled to Gatlinburg. There are so many things to do in Gatlinburg, there are shops, great restaurants, distilleries, attractions such as Ripley’s, white water rafting, enjoying the view on the Sky Lift, and so much more.

IMG_1194IMG_1196IMG_1193 IMG_1189IMG_1204IMG_1202

Day 4:

Was a day of exploring nature. We drove through the Great Smoky Mountains and the view is just breathtaking. We also traveled through part of Cherokee, NC to visit the Mountain Farm Museum and the Oconaluftee River Trail.

Day 5:

My sister, our friend, and I went to The Island in Pigeon Forge which is a family fun eat, shop, play, and stay. My friend and I decided to get on The Wheel, a cute enclosed Ferris wheel. The Wheel was 200 feet high and it went around 6-8 times, I use to work at the Orlando Eye which is twice its size, I have to say I’ve been spoiled and I was a little judgemental. The ride was nice but it could have been better. We also checked out some of the shops on the strip.

  5. Let them know that you’ve nominated them

11 Facts About Me:

  1. My favorite food is Pizza and tacos.

  3. I was born in Florida, which I feel like is rare. Shoutout to all my Floridians!

  5. I’m obsessed with watching youtube videos.
  6. Harry Potter is my favorite movie or should I says movies.
  7. I love ice cream. I eat ice cream almost every day.
  8. If you’re not a gator, you’re gator bait! Go GATORS!! Yes, I love the UF Gators!  🐊
  9. I don’t know how to swim.
  10. My favorite animal is a monkey.
  11. My first concert was Justin Timberlake & Christina Aguilera.

Questions Ali asked me:

  1. What would your perfect day be like?                                                                                    A perfect day for me would be on vacation is Dubai doing all the fun tourist things, being at the Summer Olympics and attended any event but mostly swimming and gymnastics, at NYFW or any fashion week, or going to a concert with all the popular 90’s bands and artist. Hopefully, all this will happen one day. A more realistic perfect day for me would be a warm 80-90 degrees sunny day (most people say this is hot), hanging out with friends or family having fun or getting photos or post done for my blog.
  2. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?                                                                                                                                          I’m deciding between pizza and tacos obviously. But I have to go with pizza. Pizza is my one true love and I eat pizza a few times a week anyways.
  3. What song’s lyrics feel as if they represent your life best?                                    “Just dance! Gonna be okay” This is from Lady Gaga’s Just Dance song. I love dancing, I always find myself dancing to music even in public. Plus dancing always makes you feel better, right?
  4. What is your favorite thing about yourself?                                                                My favorite thing about myself is I’m empathic. I have the ability to understand and share the feelings of other people.
  5. Do you prefer drugstore makeup or high end? Why?                                                            I prefer high-end makeup. Back in the day (late middle school maybe), when I first started wearing makeup my first powder press/foundation was from Fashion Fair, which you would have had to buy from Macy’s or Belk. If you don’t know Fashion Fair it was a brand that catered to women of color. This is what my granny used and she took me to the store to buy some. I’ve been really fortunate to be able to get free Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes from co-workers, I got the naked 1 & 2 palette on eBay for a great deal ( and yes they were brand new), and I save my money for what I want. Also, what I like about high-end brands, typically the store it’s sold in you can swatch/try the product before buying and with drugstore makeup you have to search for the products at different stores such as Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, and Ulta. However, I have been exploring with drugstore makeup. At the age of 25, I tried my first drugstore foundation, the L’oreal Pro Glow this year and I love it.  But because of my skin tone, I do find it easier to find my shade with higher end brands.
  6. If you could go on a date with any celebrity, who would you pick and why?               If I could go on a “date” with any celebrity, the first person that comes to mind is Gigi Hadid. I would love to be able to sit with her a chat with her about fashion, her life, her modeling career, and any tips and tricks on taking photos.
  7. What is one thing you hate about blogging?                                                                        One thing I hate about blogging is writing. I’ve never enjoyed writing, it stresses me out. I do have to say I am getting better at it.
  8. Do you believe in horoscopes?                                                                                                 Yes, I do believe in horoscopes. But only to a certain extent, I don’t live my life by them. It’s just interesting how most of the characteristics for Aries match me and my personality. And sometimes the monthly “predictions” can be right on.
  9. If you could eliminate one task from your life, what would it be?                                   I would say wash my hair and the whole process. It’s convincing myself and to start washing it that’s hard.
  10. What is one product you couldn’t live without?                                                                   I don’t know if I could live without my phone.
  11. What made you decide to start blogging?                                                                         I’ve wanted to start a fashion blog for years. I love fashion, I love to shop and I want to share my style, tips, and fashion information with others whether it’s what the trends are or what stores are having great sales.

  3. What is your favorite thing about blogging?

Holiday Gift Guide: Fashion Accessories

As much as I love shopping, I actually don’t enjoy buying gifts for people. Buying gifts for other people stresses me out. One, I think that I’m a terrible gift giver; Two, I don’t know how to wrap gifts and make a great presentation and Three, I never know what to buy for someone unless they give me a list of things they like. If I have to choose on my own, I procrastinate, and stress about whether they will like it or not.

So I decided to prepare this year of some really cool gift ideas

Here is a list of 25 under $25 fashion accessories. I did accessories because trying to buy clothing is hard. Every store has different sizing and even the store you shop in all the time, sometimes the sizing or the cut of the item can be weird.

1. This is by far the best charger I’ve EVER SEEN! I need to buy one ASAP!

2. If you have a friend who is into fashion and loves jewelry, how about giving them something that is trendy but unique?! A choker necklace.

Screen Shot 2016-12-01 at 10.11.03 PM.jpg

3. Sunglasses! My favorite accessory. They can be worn pretty much year round.

4. A gift, to keep your loved one warm.

5. Give a friend a gift that sparkles for that NYE party!

6. Know someone that is always late…. Give them a watch for Christmas! (lol just kidding)

7. A gift, that keeps your fingers warm while you text.

8. For that chic person in your life, a blanket scarf is perfect.

Screen Shot 2016-12-01 at 10.16.45 PM.jpg

9. Put a ring on it! 😉

10. For that person you know, who is always switching their phone case, this DIY letterboard case is very cool.

11. Belts to add pazazz to an outfit.

Screen Shot 2016-12-01 at 10.24.21 PM.jpg

12. With the Fujiflim Instax Mini being so popular, this cute case is a great gift. Also, it says you’re  able to take photos without taking it out of the case!

13. In my opinion, the best winter accessory is a beanie!

14. For your younger sister or the simple girl, a pack of stud earrings is a great stocking stuffer. Charlotte Russe has reasonably priced jewelry. Usually, you can get 2 for $10.

15. For that Starbucks lover, a stylish coffee tumbler is something they would love.

Screen Shot 2016-12-05 at 7.34.45 PM.jpg

16. For that girl who is always on the go. A wristlet will be easy for her to carry all of her belongings.

17. Bedazzled compact mirror to match that highlight!

Screen Shot 2016-12-05 at 11.26.55 PM.jpg

18. Knee High Socks to go with those black boots under the tree.

Screen Shot 2016-12-05 at 11.39.58 PM.jpg

19. Add some life to a Macbook. I saw this marble Macbook skin Instagram and put this on my wish list. There are so many designs to choose from.

20. Tights come in countless colors and patterns for that bold person in your life.

Screen Shot 2016-12-05 at 11.55.48 PM.jpg

21. Because Aeropostale has been having such great sales lately, I decided to add this adorable backpack to the list. It’s on sale for $18.75. This would be awesome for someone in school or who travels a lot.

Screen Shot 2016-12-06 at 12.35.40 AM.jpg

23. Patches and Pins for the creative girl.

screen-shot-2016-12-06-at-6-29-02-pm  screen-shot-2016-12-06-at-6-29-22-pm

24. Headband and hair accessories for the girl whose hair is alway on point.

25. For the addict in your life 😉

Hope this list gives you some ideas!

All Black + Camo

I told you guys that you would be seeing this Satin Camo bomber jacket again! This time, I decided to wear it with a more simple look. All Black! This outfit is easy to put together when you don’t have much time to get ready.

The fit of these high-rise jeggings are amazing. I originally brought a pair of size 0 low-rise from American Eagle, but I didn’t find them as comfortable and they felt a bit tight. I exchanged them for these AEO denim X4 Hi-rise jeggings. I love the fit, the Hi-rise are not as long on me and they make me appear taller. When buying a pair of jeggings, I always buy a size up. So these are a size 2 short.

If you are wondering what denim X4 is, on American Eagles website, they describe it as a revolutionary 4 way stretch for advanced body contouring that won’t bag up. There is a vertical stretch that was created to lift the butt and help contour the legs.

Shop the Look!

Have you tried Hi-rise jeans yet? What are your thoughts?

From Summer to Fall

Right now, it’s officially fall in Florida. Its cold out in the mornings  (For the majority of Floridians, if its below 75 its cold lol) and warms up in the afternoons. What I enjoy about this weather is wearing tights, they will keep your legs warm when its cold out but when it does warm up you won’t get hot.

I decided to take a summer outfit and make it fall appropriate by adding tights, booties, and a military jacket vest. This outfit can be worn to a lunch date with friends, running errands around town (aka shopping), or for a day of classes.

Also, this crossbody bag is from Nine West. Even though its a small bag, it has many compartments, to fit all of your daily necessities. Its great for everyday use and very stylish.

How do you transition your Summer pieces into Fall outfits?

Shop the look! There are some similar items:

Stripes & Camo

Hey dolls!

I am mixing patterns here! Something about the stripes and came together makes this outfit very exciting for me. This satin camouflage bomber jacket is everything!! I am so obsessed with it. I wear it non stop, so you guys will definitely be seeing more of it.

If mixing prints is not your thing, you can wear the bodycon dress by itself with a cute pair of booties or heels. For cooler weather you can throw on an oversize denim jacket.

What do you think about mixing stripes and camouflage together?

Feeling Like Fall

Hey dolls!!

When I first seen this shirt, it screamed FALL to me! I’m excited for fall, meaning I’m excited for the food lol. Theres dutch apple pie, pumpkin pie, PSL, Salted Carmel Mocha Frappuccino, of course great Halloween tutorials, dark vampy lipsticks.

Since it’s still hot in Florida ( which I am very thankful for!) I decided to pair the top with black high-waisted jeans and these cute lace up flats. To me, the colors in the shirt pop more with the black jeans. I feel like this look is simple but still very stylish. What’s your favorite fall food?

Mock Turtleneck Dress

A major trend for this fall and winter is Mock Turtlenecks. We let this trend go in the early ’90s, but turtlenecks are making a comeback in a good way!

This dress is prefect for fall. I decided to go with a jean jacket but you can also rock a leather jacket. This dress is so versatile. You can dress it up or wear it causal for any occasion such as work, date night, or a lunch with friends. To dress this outfit up go for a pair of  heels (I vote for leopard print) or a pair of wedge heels with gold accessories. To keep the outfit causal try pairing the dress with booties or lace up flats.

Here is the link to the dress:

Lace-Up Denim

The trend for this Spring is denim and lace up! A denim dress is a great piece to have in your closet. You can dress it up with a pair of heels or thigh high boots, or dress it down with a pair of booties, sandals, or sneakers.

I decided to pair this dress with over the knee socks and my burgundy booties. I tied the plaid top around the wait to give my outfit more edge. DSCF0639 If you want to keep the outfit more simple, just let the dress flow. A black floppy fedora hat would also be a cute accessory.
